Stuttgart. Come by, marvel and enjoy: on Sunday, 17 May 2026, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is offering free admission to its permanent exhibition on the occasion of International Museum Day. Visitors will also have the opportunity to use the Roarington simulators on Level 0 free of charge. This way they can combine a visit to the exhibition with an additional offering for automobile enthusiasts.
Important notice: Due to the Stuttgart Run, the Museum and Classics & Coffee will only be accessible by car from 10 a.m. on 17 May 2026. Access is via Martin-Schrenk-Weg. The museum opens as usual at 9 a.m.
The high-end driving simulators from cooperation partner Roarington approximate real-life drives on legendary racing circuits in famous Mercedes-Benz motorsport cars, e.g. with digital twins of the 300 SLR “722” at Monza, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” in Monaco and the AMG-Mercedes 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II DTM at the Norisring. Racing drivers Bernd Mayländer, Bernd Schneider and Karl Wendlinger currently hold simulator lap records – and now anyone can compete against them.
Classics & Coffee with G-Class Special
Classics & Coffee will also take place on 17 May 2026 as a G-Class Special. Since 1979, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been fascinating enthusiasts with its extreme off-road capability and impressive performance. The popular brand-independent Sunday event places this icon of automotive history centre stage.
This year, the G-Class themed special begins the day before, on Saturday, 16 May 2026, with an exclusive pre-event. The programme includes expert talks, an immersive VR experience, DJ music and a select offering of food and beverages. More information about the programme: www.mercedes-benz.com/
The Classics & Coffee Members programme makes regular visits to Classics & Coffee even more attractive with new loyalty rewards: those who participate collect digital loyalty points and can look forward to special rewards.
International Museum Day
International Museum Day underscores the importance of museums as places of education, interaction and cultural participation. It draws attention to their role in preserving history, making knowledge accessible and understanding the context of social developments. For the Mercedes-Benz Museum, which opened 20 years ago in May 2006, the day is an opportunity to emphasise the special role of the Museum as a vibrant cultural centre of automotive and contemporary history. By offering free admission on International Museum Day, the Museum opens up its permanent exhibition and additional activities to a wider audience.
Mercedes‑Benz Anniversary Year “140 Years of Innovation”
Since Carl Benz filed the patent for the first automobile 140 years ago and Gottlieb Daimler built his motorised carriage shortly afterwards, Mercedes‑Benz has dedicated itself to constantly innovate and to create the world’s most desirable cars for customers. This ambition has driven every innovation – from the world’s first automobile in 1886 to today’s intelligent and safe electric vehicles, like the all-new GLC and the award-winning all-new CLA. With the new S‑Class, the company continues the biggest product launch programme in its history. With its passion for performance and pioneering power, excellence and an unwavering commitment to customer service, the brand has consistently shaped the future of mobility. The result goes well beyond engineering achievement – it creates the unmistakable feeling that leads through everything Mercedes‑Benz does: Welcome home.
Mercedes‑Benz is celebrating 140 years of innovation by driving three new S‑Class saloons on a trans-continental journey to 140 locations worldwide. Each place highlights the brand’s technology, heritage, pioneering spirit and worldwide presence. Along the way customers, fans and colleagues will get to join in the celebrations – on an epic adventure that will run until October. Follow the “140 Years. 140 Places” drive across six continents on our “140 years of innovation | Mercedes‑Benz Media” special and via the Mercedes‑Benz Community.
