With the all-new electric VLE, Mercedes-Benz creates a segment of its own. It’s the first-ever Grand Limousine, masterfully combining the best of two worlds: the versatility and spaciousness of an MPV with the agility and ride comfort of a Mercedes-Benz limousine. Moreover, thanks to the pioneering Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), the VLE is always up to date through over-the-air updates4 and technically ready for advanced SAE-Level 2 driving assistance5. The VLE excels in every dimension of the driving experience, delivering tremendous driving pleasure with complete confidence and ease. In the city, it moves and parks with the agility of a compact car, and on long distances it glides with the serenity of a true premium limousine. At the same time, the VLE breaks new ground in electric efficiency, consuming less than 20 kWh per 100 kilometres. That’s equivalent to about two litres of diesel. With more than 700 kilometres of range1, 2 and 355 kilometres recharged in 15 minutes3, even long journeys become effortless.

Each wheel is damped independently, absorbing speed bumps, potholes and uneven surfaces with effortless composure. Every journey becomes a remarkably serene experience.
Exceptionally smart: top-notch digital experience
Powered by MB.OS – the VLE makes the driving experience more personal and smarter
Thanks to the AI-powered Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), the VLE features the latest MBUX with intuitive and personal control. It also benefits from the MBUX Virtual Assistant, which uses multi-agent generative AI and understands complex conversations with memory, responding like an informed friend. Over-the-air updates keep the VLE up to date, adding new features without the customer having to visit a dealer.
Unparalleled MBUX Rear Space Experience: turning every journey into an immersive adventure
Hidden in the headliner above the front seats is a retractable, 79-centimetre (31.3-inch) panoramic screen with 8K resolution, split-screen function and an eight-megapixel camera. At the touch of a button, it transforms the interior into a personal retreat – perfect for streaming movies, enjoying music, diving into cloud gaming or joining an online meeting. The optional Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System offers 22 loudspeakers and uses Dolby Atmos technology to turn music listening into an immersive audio experience. The continuously growing Mercedes-Benz infotainment portfolio offers more than 40 apps4. These include music streaming, videoconferencing, video streaming platforms such as Disney+ and RIDEVU8 from Sony Pictures Entertainment and video games. The latter incorporates a wide selection of triple-A titles via the cloud-gaming provider Boosteroid.
MBUX Superscreen: clear information for the driver and individual entertainment for the front passenger
The cockpit in the VLE offers a top-level digital experience. The optional, visually floating MBUX Superscreen with three displays extends across the entire width of the interior. Behind a large glass surface are a
26-centimetre (10.25-inch) driver display, 35.6-centimetre (14-inch) central display and an additional
35.6-centimetre (14-inch) screen for the front passenger (optional). While the driver benefits from clear, focused information, the front passenger can enjoy a personalised entertainment experience such as video streaming, gaming or apps. If no passenger display is installed, a star pattern enhances the visual impression in this area. The MBUX Superscreen is powered by state-of-the-art high-performance microprocessors and displays real-time graphics from the Unity Game Engine. Another extra is the head-up display with augmented navigation. The driver sees a virtual 58.7-centimetre (23.1-inch) image that appears to float approximately four metres in front of the vehicle, providing the most important driving information in direct line of sight.
Unmatched comfort and versatility: tailored to every taste and need
Easy access to the rear: two sliding doors with retractable windows and separately opening rear window
The comfort experience begins the moment you get in. The VLE has an electric sliding door on either side with optional HANDS-FREE Access, so passengers can get in and out quickly and safely without having to walk around the vehicle and without the driver having to turn around. This is especially helpful in narrow lanes. The sliding doors feature fully retractable windows and intelligent stopping mechanism. When the sensors detect obstacles, the doors immediately stop closing to prevent injuries. Just as practical as the doors is the separately opening rear window with its own cargo area access – perfect for tight parking spaces where there isn’t enough room to open a larger tailgate. As an option, the electric EASY-PACK tailgate is available.
Room for all: more versatility than ever before
The VLE is the epitome of versatility and comfort. The seating concept offers unprecedented flexibility to suit every taste and need. Anything from five to eight seats is possible, combined and configured in multiple different ways. Customers can choose from three, newly developed individual seat types in the rear: Comfort Seat (manual), Premium Comfort Seat (electric), and Grand Comfort Seat, the latter with an additional pillow, wireless charging, lumbar support with a massage function and calf support (electric). Flexible folding tables further enhance the comfort for the rear passengers. Beside individual seats, there are also two three-seater comfort benches available (electrical or manual).
Perfect climate comfort: a pleasant temperature shortly after getting in
Whether it’s +35 degrees Celsius in Dubai or -10 degrees Celsius in Norway – the VLE maintains a comfortable climate all year round and anywhere in the world. Three climate control systems ensure pleasant temperatures within just a few minutes, especially in the rear of the Grand Limousine.
Flexible seating: manual Roll & Go or orchestrate “seat ballet” via remote control
The new Roll & Go concept offers a convenient way to move and remove the manually operated seats. Customers can move and fold the seats and benches forwards and backwards with minimal effort, then lock them in place in any position. They are also removable in any position, enabling customers to quickly and easily create a cargo space to suit their specific requirements. When removed, the seats can easily be rolled into the garage on their integrated four wheels.
An extremely convenient feature that is unique in this segment is the ability to remotely configure the seating. Thanks to MB.OS, all electrically adjustable rear seats and bench can be moved via the infotainment system, the seat control buttons in the side wall panels or via the Mercedes-Benz App, almost like choreographing a ballet. Called “Remote Variable Rear Space”, this feature redefines the intelligent use of space. There are four pre-defined configurations:
- “Baggage” mode moves all seats forward as far as possible to maximise cargo space – great for shopping or stowing sports gear.
- “Executive” moves the seats as far back as possible to maximise legroom in the first rear seating row – perfect for VIP transfers.
- “People & Baggage” is a well-balanced configuration that ensures ample luggage space and comfortable legroom in both rear rows – as enjoyed by passengers in the E-Class.
- “Standard” mode moves all seats back to the standard position.
Countless customisation options: a wide range of lines, packages and centre consoles
A wide range of packages and options enables customers to refine the VLE’s interior and the exterior to their individual preferences and lifestyles. The spectrum ranges from four lines (standard equipment; AMG Line; AMG Line Plus; EXCLUSIVE) to four optional equipment packages (Advanced; Advanced Plus; Premium; Premium Plus) and numerous individual options. These include, for example, the Night Package, a wide selection of 19- to 22-inch light alloy wheels and trim elements.
Customers can also choose from three different centre consoles. The compact standard console beneath the instrument panel offers one or optionally two wireless charging pads for mobile devices as well as seamlessly integrated cupholders. It provides unobstructed access to the rear – a feature much loved by families. A longer centre console is also available. It comes with two wireless charging pads, a stowage compartment beneath the classic butterfly lids and a lower open storage shelf suitable for items such as a larger handbag. The third variant caters to even more exclusive demands. It offers two temperature-controlled stowage compartments (cooled or heated), UV disinfection, AIR-BALANCE fragrance generator, two wireless charging options, ambient lighting and elegant trim elements.
Up to 2.5 tonnes towing capacity: heavy-duty made easy for every adventure
The VLE can tow up to 2.5 tonnes braked, making it ideal for caravans, boats or horse trailers. The nose weight of 100 kilograms allows for the transportation of electric bicycles on a suitable carrier. ESP® trailer stabilisation and the Trailer Manoeuvring Assist help make handling the Grand Limousine with a trailer easier and safer.
Support in almost every driving situation: the advanced MB.DRIVE systems
To provide first-class driving assistance, the all-new VLE is equipped with 10 external cameras, five radar sensors, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a water-cooled supercomputer processor running on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). This exceptionally powerful control unit is capable of up to 254 tera operations per second (TOPs). Artificial intelligence algorithms, trained on large volumes of fleet data, process the raw sensor data to build a detailed understanding of the surrounding traffic environment. Thanks to MB.OS, the VLE is always up to date through over-the-air updates and technically ready for advanced SAE-Level 2 driving assistance. MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO enables point-to-point assisted driving even in dense urban traffic.
The VLE comes as standard with extensive safety and assistance systems. MB.DRIVE Standard includes, for example, a rear-view camera, Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Lane-keeping Function, Manoeuvring Assist and Evasive Steering Function Plus, which can autonomously steer around objects or other vehicles to prevent collisions within the vehicle’s own lane. In addition, Mercedes-Benz offers different MB.DRIVE packages for the VLE. Depending on the selected package, they support the driver with cooperative steering, braking, accelerating and parking. MB.DRIVE ASSIST, for example, includes extended assistance functions such as Steering Assist and Lane Change Assist, which enables lane changes with a simple tap of the indicator stalk. Since the VLE is already fitted as standard with all required cameras and sensors, customers can add them at any time after purchase.
Advanced parking assistance: the VLE can park itself
With MB.DRIVE, even parking becomes an effortless affair. MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST9 detects parking spaces on both sides of the vehicle from a distance and, for the first time, also enables diagonal parking. It also detects free spaces that are not marked by white lines. In addition, MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST can help the driver when leaving a parking space – even if the vehicle was parked manually. The system can now also park at speeds of up to 4 km/h.
MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 360 enhances manoeuvring with new and improved surround views provided by its 360-degree camera and a redesigned user interface. A highlight is the 3D surround display, featuring an animated or transparent 3D vehicle model. It shows dynamic vehicle states in real time, such as brake lights, indicators, open doors, folded mirrors and the exact rotation and steering angle of every wheel. The Digital Extra4 “Rim Protection Warning” adds a top‑view distance alert while manoeuvring, helping the driver avoid damage to the wheels.
The Digital Extra4 “Reverse Manoeuvring Function” allows the vehicle to automatically reverse along a section of the route it has just travelled for up to 150 metres, with the system taking full control of lateral guidance, provided certain conditions are met. While function is active, the main screen displays the reversing camera image together with a graphic visualisation of the planned route. This is particularly helpful in situations, where turning around is not possible.
Developed from scratch with comprehensive state-of-the-art safety features
The driver assistance systems can help prevent a wide range of accidents. With PRE-SAFE®, Mercedes‑Benz vehicles can react to dangers before an accident occurs. However, should an accident occur, the crumple zones, the exceptionally rigid passenger cell and restraint systems can help to keep the consequences of an accident as low as possible. These include up to 11 airbags as well as adjustable head restraints and seat belts with belt tensioners and force limiters, which are also found in the rear at all outer seats.
New era of distinctive design
A desirable statement: innovative aesthetics with outstanding aerodynamics
At first glance, it is clear that the VLE signals a new era. The new Van Architecture enables a completely new design that timelessly unites form and function. This results in outstanding aerodynamics, with a cd value of 0.25. The front overhang gives the VLE adequate status, while the tautly stretched roofline flows into the smoothly rounded rear. This streamlined silhouette signifies power and dynamic lightness, making the VLE a statement of desire.
Bold presence: iconic grille and striking light signature at front and rear
Two pronounced power domes on the bonnet reinforce the bold appearance. The front is characterised by a reinterpreted, brand-defining grille. Depending on the equipment line, it features an illuminated frame, a seamless light strip linking the headlights, star-shaped daytime running lights with DIGITAL LIGHT and a standing star on the bonnet or an integrated central star. A highlight at the rear are the arc design taillights, which are integrated into the aerodynamic spoiler lip. The light strip frames the rear like an inverted U and integrates all light functions, creating an unmistakable light signature that instantly catches the eye.
Extraordinary interior: Sky View panoramic roof, ambient lighting and a unique wraparound effect
Just as impressive as the exterior is the extraordinary interior experience in the VLE, which elevates the familiar “Welcome home.” feeling of a Mercedes-Benz to a new level. The Grand Limousine features a Sky View panoramic roof of impressive size. This one-piece fixed-glass roof extends seamlessly from the B-pillar to the rear and conveys an unprecedented sense of space and freedom as well as security and tranquillity. Like all the rear windows, including the separately opening rear window, it features an electric sunblind. Surround ambient lighting showcases the glass roof in striking fashion.
Ambient lighting plays a central role throughout the VLE, all the way from the cockpit to the third row of seats. As part of the overall interior design, it embraces all occupants. Together with the stylish, furniture-inspired interior design including numerous individualisation options, this creates a unique wraparound effect.
